| PROFILE OF DAVID LOE, EXHIBITS SECRETARY | |
| | _ | David is also Vice President of the North Shore Philatelic Society.
He emigrated to New Zealand from the UK with his wife and two boys in 1996. On visiting a stamp shop in downtown Auckland in his first week, he was invited to join North Shore PS, and the rest as they say, is history. He has served on the committee of NSPS for 7 years and was exhibits secretary for Northpex 2002.
David is a qualified National Judge with a special interest in traditional and postal history. He now only collects Iceland but has had a very large general collection of classical European and central and South American material. He has shown his material in competition in the UK, Europe, America and Australasia as well as local society displays in New Zealand. He has written extensively for philatelic magazines on Icelandic Postal History.
David is 47 and when not collecting stamps is a civil engineer working for a contracting organisation based in Auckland. He supports his two sons in their basketball pursuits but his main sport is road cycling having retired from rugby union. |
