| | | _ | We have just seen the first proof of the medals for the NZ 2005 Stamp Show. These will be stunning! They are based on the long Humphrys portrait of Queen Victoria and are absolutely superb. Sorry they will not be for sale. You need a medal winning exhibit to get one of these!!
The portrait is shown on Cinderella Sheet No.1, which you can see under Pictures at an Exhibition
The engraving by William Humphrys was the basis of all those Commonwealth stamp designs, including the first New Zealand stamps, which used a part of the Chalon Portrait as a central vignette.
