| COMPETITION TIME | |
| | _ | Those wishing to enter the New Zealand 2005 Stamp Show need to be completing an Entry Form fairly soon. An on-line Entry Form can be found on the Prospectus page. The entry deadline is 30th June.
There have been a few changes since the first Prospectus was sent out last year, an explanatory note 3c has been added to the Exhibition Regulations:
Division 4 in the Prospectus for NEW ZEALAND 2005 shows that sections 4.2 Open/Social, 4.3 Polar, and 4.5 Entries not catered for elsewhere are qualifying classes at FIP level. This means quite simply that entries which obtain the necessary qualifying standard, (Silver-Gold or Vermeil), in these classes may be submitted as entries at FIP level.
We are well aware that at the moment these classes only exist in some National level exhibitions, but nevertheless the entries in these sections do qualify for FIP exhibitions where an alternative class is both obvious and available to entrants. For example, any Polar entry which achieves the standard may be entered at FIP level in the Postal History section. Any Open class entry may be submitted at FIP level in those exhibitions which include an open section and so on. The organisers of New Zealand 2005 are not saying that such entries WILL be accepted at FIP level, nor are they saying that such entries will do well at FIP level if accepted, these are matters which can only be addressed by the respective FIP exhibition organisers and Judges. The class listed as Open/Social is in fact the Open class. “Social” is tagged on so as to encourage entry by those who still consider their entry to be “Social”. Future National level exhibitions will probably omit the word Social altogether as FIP have recently decided to promote the Open class rather than Social.
Previous Item 3c then becomes 3d and Item 3d becomes 3e.
Other changes are:
- Youth Development classes are now added. These were omitted in error previously.
- The One Frame Class has now been opened up to Australasian entries. Previously this class was New Zealand only.
So there are no excuses – we need your entries please.
For those of you living in either Australia or Canada, and wishing to enter, we would urge you to liaise with your Commissioner in those countries - details in Bulletins 1 and 2. |
