DescriptionBeginning in 1924, several pioneering companies initiated airmail service in the remote areas of Canada. These firms were allowed to use their own airmail stamps in the provision of that service. Commonly known today as semi-official airmail service, these efforts proved the viability of airmail, leading to the eventual near universal use. Philatelic semi-official mail was commonly saved as souvenirs but comparatively little commercial mail survived. This exhibit attempts to illustrate the development of commercial Canadian semi-official airmail service.

DescriptionThe exhibit shows WWII Propaganda leaflets that were dropped using aeroplanes, rockets, special purpose rocket launchers and the mighty V1 flying bomb. Leaflets were often dropped over industrial centres and the countryside or fired over enemy lines with pin-point accuracy. Very few leaflets survived as it was an offence to keep them.
